Davide Albertini selected for a fellowship at Columbia University

An important international recognition for Davide Albertini, researcher in the Neuroethology Laboratory at the University of Parma, who has been selected for a fellowship at the Italian Academy for Advanced Studies in America at Columbia University in New York.
The Italian Academy program is among the most prestigious international programs and promotes advanced, interdisciplinary research involving scholars from all over the world.
During the fellowship, Davide Albertini will carry out a research project focused on the macaque motor cortex, with the aim of understanding how the brain controls voluntary movements.
More specifically, the project explores the hypothesis that even the simplest movements are composed of multiple “sub-movements” and aims to clarify whether these are coordinated by specific networks of interconnected neurons.
This recognition confirms the international profile of the research carried out within the laboratory and represents an important opportunity to strengthen high-level scientific collaborations.
